Penny Black and More April Challenge - Spring

Good Morning, this month I am the Allsorts DT member guesting on the Penny Black and More challenge blog. The challenge this month is ...

All things Spring

I have used Penny Black 30-344 - Sunny Wishes stamp.

To be honest I have had this stamp for quite a while and have tried and tried to colour it but have never been happy with my colouring.

So I made a background, with my pan scourers, using distressed inks to represent Crocus, Daffodils and Tulips.
Stamped over it with Memento Grape Jelly.
The backing card is a lovely light green but looks like turquoise and the 6 x 6 card is white

Fabulous card Kath - and what a perfect way to use a tricky to colour stamp! Must remember that neat trick. Did laugh at you using pan scourers to apply the background - Brillo or Ajax? Remember those?!

It's a beautiful stamp Kath, but I can quite see why it would be difficult to colour...you've got round the problem beautifully with that gorgeous inky background! Love the colours!

Great background...love how you used a kitchen tool to create this texture. Brilliant way to create the bkground, stamp this lovely bouquet, then use the same background was a border. Lovely layout. TFS (and congrats on your DT assignment!) Hugs

This is absolutely gorgeous Kath... I love the colours you used, they look so good together - and as I don't normally go for yellow - that's saying something from me! LOL! And I love that you stamped it AFTER the blending.. totally fabulous!

Hi Kath

I think we all have stamps like that in our collections .. .. but you have come up with the solution for using them. We will all be delving into our "what do I do with these" boxes now!

Loving your colour choices too for the background. A great Spring card!

I hope all is well with you.

Love Jules xx
