Allsorts challenge weeks 499/500 Thanks a Bunch

Our challenge today will run for two weeks over the Christmas period.

The challenge title is Thanks A Bunch chosen by our lovely Tracy.
So we would like to see Thank you cards and flowers on your creations.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamp Addicts

For my card I have used the Woodware stamp - Flowers in a Can.
The papers are Craftwork Cards and the sentiment is computer generated.
Memory Box Tessaltina die and I inlaid the cut outs and placed a few punched flowers down the centre.

This challenge has been chosen to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all those who have entered our challenges over the past year and we thank you for your support as we could not carry on without you.

On a personnel note I am also saying a HUGE THANK YOU  to my lovely followers for all your comments and support over the past year/years it is so very much appreciated.

I did post this in error the other week instead of scheduling it but then immediately deleted the post.

I hope that you are all finished with the Christmas preparations all I have left to do now is some housework, left the worst thing till last!

As always thank you so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.
I hope that you all have a really lovely Christmas and a Very Happy New Year.

Week 550 over at Allsorts and it is Christmas Trees

Our lovely Susan chose the theme for this weeks challenge before she went on her break and she would like to see ....
Christmas Trees
on your entries.

I have used the Woodware stamp - Framed Trees.
Stamped with Memento - Bamboo Leaves.
Backing card old stock.
White glitter added to the dots and wavy lines on the tree.

It is times like this, with this type of image that a stamping platform really is worth it's salt, as you do need to stamp it more than once, well I did!

Thank you  for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

                                                                  Marianne Designs

I thought that I would try a different colour combo for this challenge.
Not too sure if it works very well but I do quite like it in RL.

The dies are Plush Poinsettia Corner from Memorybox.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave,
Have a great week.

Sunday 2 December 2018

Penny Black and More-December challenge.

Good Morning - it is my turn from the Allsorts team to be a guest designer for the Penny Black and More challenge.
The theme for December is to use the colours of Red, Green and Gold.

For my card I have used a Penny Black -wood mounted stamp
4056k- Kisses from 2010

I have paper piece the present with the same background card, which is from Kanban.
The gold glitter paper for the ribbon is some very old Craftwork Cards papers.
Computer generated sentiments.

Now if the challenge was red, gold and green it would remind me of the song by Culture Club, you know the one I mean? Wonder how many of you will be singing that all day now.

I am also going to enter this card in Scrappy MO's Rudolph Day December challenge. It officially ended in November but she does one in December for those who have not won a prize and have entered every month for the past year.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 496 - Fairies , Fantasy and all things magical

Morning all - It is week 496 over at Allsorts and the theme  has been chose by the lovely Brenda.
And she would like to see ...

Faries, Fantasy and all thing Magical (but NOT Father Christmas or Santa, entries with him will not be eligible for the prize)

Our prize for this challenge is this...
Super stamp set

Brenda is not very well at the moment so our lovely Tracy has stepped in to run the challenge.
Thank you so much Tracy.

Here is my card.

For my card I have used papers, image and sentiment from Craftwork Cards.
The small fairy is a stamp that I stamped in black and cut round the image so I could place it directly onto the papers.
The ribbon was actually black with white dots and I coloured the white dots with pink to match.

Can you believe it is the 1st of December, yesterday finished writing my cards and then got Hubby to get all the presents out that I have bought and to be honest, some of them, I can not remember who I have bought them for.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Rudolph Day November 2018

I say officially because once again Mo is running the challenge in December for all of us who have not won a prize this year.
I  actually won a prize in the first R.D. challenge that Mo ran after she had taken over the baton from Sarn, who used to run the challenge.

For my card I have used a Woodware stamp, called 'Three candles'
which sort of reminds me of the sketch by the Two Ronnies - Four Candles (Fork Handles)
I have added lots of glitter and glossy accents to the candles.
To be totally honest the jury is still out on this one.

I am sure that you will all join me in saying a huge...
THANK YOU to Mo for running the challenge and the team for all their lovely inspiration and comments this past year.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments that you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge 495 - Inspired by a song

Good Morning over at Allsorts Helene has chosen our theme this week and she would like to see your creation that are Inspired by a song.

The prize this week is a Bumper Bundle of some super items for one lucky winner.
So we are looking forward to seeing your song inspired creations.

Here is my card which was inspired by one of my all time favourites....

Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf

The image is Penny Black - Born Wild 2011
This speedy hedgie would be vroom, vrooming along but he is stopped at the traffic lights, surprised he stopped.
Paper LOTV/Nitwits.
Had those metal things for years.

Had a totally un-productive week, shopping wise, went out nearly all day Monday and Thursday and both days bought nothing at all.

Thank you so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.
Have a lovely weekend.

Allsorts challenge week 494 - CAS Christmas

Good Morning - Another chance for you to catch up on your Christmas cards this week as the lovely Ellie has chosen the theme of ...

Clean and simple Christmas (CAS)

We have these two lovely Tattered Lace dies for one lucky winner

For my cards this week I have chosen this Father Christmas digi stamp from
Digi Stamp Boutique - sadly not available anymore

As you can see I have used the same image but just altered the backing card and ribbon.
There is a tad of glitter on these cards, around the white card that the image is stamped on, on the top of Santa's hat.
I must admit that when I came to write this post I panicked thinking I had forgotten to colour the berries red, so had to get the cards and check but I had glittered the berries in white glitter too.
The ribbon also has a touch of glitter on the outside edges but I have not added that as it came with the ribbon.
Computer generated sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.
Have a great week.

Allsorts Challenge week 493 - Poppies and/or Red

Good Morning all, it is my turn to hoast the challenge over at Allsorts this week and I have chosen the theme of....

Poppies or the colour red.

Tomorrow (Sunday 11th of November) is Remembrance Sunday here in the UK so I thought that we would commemorate the occasion.
It is also 100 years since the end of World War One.

Here is the prize for one lucky winner.

Inkylicious Poppy Stamp and a set of Distressed crayons

I have used Hero Arts - Poppy Background 2011
Papers from my collection
Border die is Die-Namics - Dainty Lace border

If you do not want to use Poppy's I have also done this card basically just using the colour red.

I have left the card without a sentiment for now.
Penny Black stamp from the Sunshine Flowers collection.
The die is from one of my favourites at the moment the Atlantic Collection by Sue Wilson.

If anyone out there is thinking of buying a Cut'n'Boss machine, contact me first so I can talk you out of it.

Went to see Bohemian Rhapsody the film this week, loved it, great Queen Fan.
One of my regrets is that I never saw them in concert, but I did take my Daughters down to Wembley to see the Freddie Mercury tribute concert which was sad but excellent.

Thank you all so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 492 - Pretty Papers

Good Morning and another week has flown by and we have another challenge for you here at Allsorts.

We have this lovely prize for the winner.
Three paper pads and ribbon.

The theme for this week is .....
Pretty papers used as a background.

Well to be honest I have used these papers as the main image as well as the background,
They are part of an 8 x 8 sheet of paper by Craftwork Cards and while you may not agree but I just thought this sheet just stood out on it's own and did not want to be covered by any other image.
The sentiments are also from Craftwork Cards.
Added a wink of Stella to the flowers but naturally you won't see them on the photo.
To be honest I can not see it in the daylight but at night under a light it does look really good.

We will be having a small bonfire and fireworks Sunday night instead of Monday as Ethan will have homework and revision to do Monday night but these days fireworks seem to be going off a week before and a week after the original date.
For the first time ever, we had no Trick or Treat callers, couldn't believe it.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave,

I have used a mixture of gems and pearls on the embossing folder and the top corner of the image.
Coloured with Pro-markers.
5 x 5 card stock.

Thank you so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 490 - Traditional Christmas

Another Christmas theme again this week and this great theme Traditional Christmas colours

By Traditional Christmas we want to see the colours of Red, Green and White.

Our sponsor this week is Swedish House Crafts.
They are offering a voucher to spend in their store.

For my card today I have used a Kanban stamp that I bought on sale for £1.00
The background  papers are LOTV/Nitwits and once again I went over the pinky/purple stripe with a red Promarker.
Paper pieced the chair with another LOTV paper
Added some card candy
The sentiment stamps came with the image.

Another Christmas card Bites the Dust.

After my post of last week I did more checking and the problem goes back to around the 16th of September and my comments are showing and continuing to show on those who have a 'pop-up' comment box but it is on those blogs that have an embedded (comment box at the bottom of the post) they say publishing but do not appear on the list of comments.
I have still continued to leave comments on those of you with embedded comment boxes just in case it suddenly returns back to normal, what's the saying "When Nelson gets his eye back"! no doubt.

Had a really lovely day at the Dome last Sunday and met some really lovely crafters, now they have all posted since the Dome and mentioned those they met but I haven't so it will be old news to some but not to others.
Brenda our lovely leader at Allsorts.
Sandra, Sally and Lynne from Stamping Sensations.
It was really lovely to meet them, such nice people.

Thanks so much for popping by and for any comments you are kind enough to leave..

Allsorts challenge week 489 - Christmas

Another week has flown by so we have a new challenge over at Allsorts.
This week is the turn of our lovely Susan and she has chosen the theme of...

Christmas

A really wide range of options for you with this theme.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Sticker You

I have used Penny Black stamp from the Jolly Friends collection.
Spellbinders dies for the border and for the image.
The gold papers are from a First Addition pad, they have some glitter on them but you will not be able to see it. The front of the card ends at the edge of the die and I have used the same papers on the inside of the card.
Sentiment computer generated and backing punch SU.

Getting excited as I am going to the Dome at Doncaster tomorrow and will be meeting up with Brenda and maybe some other members of our team.

It seems that there is some problem with the comments I am leaving on most of your blogs, they seem to disappear. Had no idea about this till I had a comment from one of my followers asking if I was ill or had been away as she had not had a comment from me for a while. Well I had posted a comment on every post she has made but it was not there. As I was doing my commenting last night I checked out all your older posts as well and there was no comment showing from me.

I can assure you that I have been leaving comments and they have stated that they have been published but no idea why they are not there and I have also no idea how long this has been going on or why it has changed but I do apologise and wish to let you know that I have not forsaken you.

Thanks for popping by and any comments that you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 488 - Trees or Leaves

Good Morning another challenge at Allsorts and this weeks hoast is the lovely Mervi.
She has chosen the theme of

Trees or Leaves or both

Our Sponsor this week is MarianneDesigns.
This is the prize she has so generously donated.

Here is my card

It uses a 6 x 6 paper from Craftwork cards for the background.
I then used a Poppystamps die - Lorelai Leaf and used the die in the centre of the papers to cut out the leaves.
I used a MFT - Stiched square, scalloped edge die, which actually make a square border but with the  centre cut out. I put the leaves onto the cut out centre and placed it in the middle of the die cut border to cover the die cut out leaves.
I punched some tiny flowers, from pink papers the make of the punch is
Tom Tas - how old is that.? With a few tiny gems in the centre.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Rudolph Day - September 2018

It's Rudolph Day again over at ScrappyMo's you can enter until the 30th of September.
There is a choice of one of two prizes this month. - A snowflake die or a stamp set.

For my card I have used the Memory Box die - Winterland Tree.
I decided to use the die quite a few times and then inlayed the pieces into each tree, fixed the two green trees to the paper and then used pads to lift the white one off the green ones.
The subtle background papers have snowflakes on but quite hard to see from the photo.
I think the papers were some left from the 'Frozen' collection.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 486 - Water or the colour Blue

Another Saturday and another challenge over at Allsorts.
This week it is the turn of our lovely Helene to set the theme and she has chosen...

Water or the Colour Blue

Our Sponsor this week is Craft Obsessions.
They are offering a £15 store voucher for the lucky winner.

Here is my card.

Would you believe the image is called 'Flowers in a Can'
Not my idea of a can rather more of a jug.
There are a few small sentiments with this set that fit perfectly in the square on the can.
Now I have used both water and blue.
Coloured with Pro-Markers
The edge dies are Spellbinder.
The dotty card is Kanban

So where is the water, well it is in the can of course otherwise the flowers would be dead!

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave are very much appreciated.

Our sponsor this week is Swedish House Crafts

The prize for one lucky winner is a £15 store voucher.

We are also very pleased to announce that we have a new DT member -
Lynn aka Crafty Linby.
A huge welcome to the team Lynn.

Now at last here is my card

I used background papers from Craftwork Cards.
Woodware stamp - Grasses
Now running through the grasses is a tiny little rabbit, you may need a magnifying glass.
Since making this card I have bought a VersaFine Clair Nocturne pad and it is really far better for doing black silhouette stamping in my humble opinion.

Totally out of my comfort zone with this challenge. Left it with out a sentiment for now.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Our Sponsor this week is Penny Black with this super prize.

How cool is that - it has a kite on too, just like my card.

For my card this week I have used the Penny Black wood stamp....

4142k- Fly with me from 2011

A mixture of colouring with ProMarkers and paper piecing on the bears clothes and on the kite.
The papers I feel are from the last few pages of a My Minds Eye 6x6 pad.

Allsorts challenge week 483 - Things with Wings

For our challenge this week at Allsorts we would like to see ....
Things with Wings
and these are the prizes that we have for one lucky winner two lovely 'Things with wings stamps'.

Here is my card.

The images and papers are ancient and they were from Craftwork Cards and the images were
pre-coloured and glittered.
Once again I have used the Verses sentiment stamp, well when you have paid a £1 for it you have to get some use out of it!
Normally 'Things with wings' is a very difficult challenge for me but having found these item after a  huge search through my stuff it was a great relief.

Thank you all for popping by and any comment you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts 482 - Music and Rudolph Day 08/18

Our lovely Wendy has chosen this weeks theme (and yes, we are back to our weekly challenges)
She would like to see something related to MUSIC on your creations.
This is the prize for this week lucky winner.
Tattered Lace Dies

For my card I have used another LOTV image and also LOTV/Nitwits papers
Image coloured with ProMarkers
Sentiment stamp is by Verses, must admit I have never heard of them but it was on sale and as I did not have a vertical sentiment stamp, grabbed it. Think it was £1.00.

Now the card for our last challenge was for my Great-Nephew Stan and this card will be for his Birthday, next July! well he took up guitar lessons after I had made his other card.
No doubt he will have packed them in by next July but.....

Also today is the August Rudolph Day challenge over at ScrappyMo's so here are my cards for this challenge.
Only three RD's days left for this year, how time fly's, well it does when you are old but seemed to drag when you were young.

Same image but just swapped the colours around on some parts of the image.

I made the shape of the card from a set of dies by MFT.
Paper are LOTV/NitWits, again coloured the pink stripe with a red Promarker.
Image is a Whimsy Stamp - Rudolph - first time I have ever bought one of these stamps but thought it was cute.
Sentiment -  Computer generated.
Image coloured with ProMarkers.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Stamping Sensations - Use your CURRENT favourite stamp.

We all have lots of favourite stamps and some go back quite a few years but over at
Stamping Sensations they want to see what is your favourite stamp at the moment.

Now my current favourite is Penny Black - Cling Stamp - Awaken
I have made several cards with this image but only published one, so far.
I must admit that I was so unsure about buying it, but was so glad that I did as I love it.
One thing that I really love about it is the fact that it has no leaves. Sometimes I think that a lot of flower images have far too many leaves.

Most of the cards that I have made with this stamp have been really bright and bold colours and paper pieced, but for this challenge I decided to do a more paler shade and colour it with Promarkers and for some reason chose blue, now I hardly ever use blue, but there you go.

I also coloured some white card with the same blue and then cut out the die and then punched out the SU ovals for the sentiment backing.
Sentiment Craftwork Cards

Backing paper is computer generated(either DSB or Pink Petticoat)
Gems (unknown) well sounds better than 'from my stash'

But I did origanally do a bright and bold card for this challenge so I may as well show you that as well.

Coloured some white card with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.
Stamped the image onto white card and then onto the P.R.D.I
Cut out the flowers and then glued onto the image.
Also cut the backing die from the Picked Raspberry.

The backing papers are NitWits but you won't find them as the original image for this paper had very pale pink dots and I just went over them with a ProMarker that was a very close to the PR colour.

Oops, had to edit this as for some reason called the DI. Pickled Raspberry.

Just to remind you that the Allsorts challenge "From Boys to Men" runs for another week.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Back to Basics and Beyond -Use a Digi Image

The current challenge over at Back to Basics and Beyond is....

Use a digital image.

My card for this challenge uses the Dr Digi image...

Happy Hour Horace

Credit where, credit is due, I saw this image on a lovely blogging friend of mine

I had to have it, but her card is just brilliant, please do take a look.
by the way I have permission from Chris to link to her blog

I have coloured and cut out the image and placed it on the Happy Birthday frame with foam pads.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

 From Boys to Men

Our sponsor for the two weeks is Marianne  Designs with this lovely prize.

Here is my card

For my card I have used a LOTV image.
The papers are from an old My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad.
Die cut letters
Craftwork Cards sentiment
SU circle punch.

Thank you all for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Sunday 5 August 2018

Penny Black and More - August challenge.

It is my turn from the Allsorts team to be the guest designer at Penny Black and More.

The theme for this month is 'Something beginning with B'

For my card I have used
Penny Black - 40-439 - Good Neighbours

Birds, Bird Boxes and a tad of Blue

I paper pieced the boxes with a wood grain paper and then coloured the flowers to sort of match.
The backing mats are gold coloured and the DP is digital paper.
I did go over the background with some pale blue chalk but the photo hasn't really picked up on it.

Kath x

Friday 3 August 2018

Use an embossing folder

That is the challenge over at Back to Basics and Beyond.

For my card I have used the EF - Daisy Trail by Creative Expressions

I embossed it twice on white card, cut down the first one to fit a 6 x 6 card blank and then cut down the second one to create a square to place on the first.
I then coloured all the dots on both squares with ProMarkers. Placed sticky pads on the small square and then matched it onto the larger square.
Coloured an old Craftwork Cards sentiment and placed as shown.
Unfortunately the photo does not really give a good impression.
I think a new camera will be on my Christmas list this year.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 478/479 - Tags

Good Morning, it is the turn of the lovely Susan to host our challenge which will run for TWO WEEKS she has chosen the theme of TAGS.

This can be either just a tag or a tag on a card.

We have a new Sponsor for you this week which is.....

Lost Coast Designs are a rubber stamp company offering a sophisticated line of unique vintage, collage, shrine, angel and other images to excite your creative impulses.

Split Coast Designs are also offering anyone who enters our challenge and places an order with them a discount, using the code Allsorts15.

Here is my Tag

Here are a few more

I have used the Penny Black stamp Santa's Hat
and the Penny Black die Santa's Hat cut out.
Bit of a poor photo as the red glitter strands cover up some of the tags but I hope you get the idea.

I really never make tags and I was quite stumped what to do (although we could make a card, with a tag on it and not just a tag)

Then this idea came into my head, so I made one and then got carried away and made some more. Because the colouring showed through on the back I used the die to cut the shape again out of white card and glued it on the back of the image.

These were going to be entered into the RD challenge for July but due to unforeseen circumstances the July challenge will not be starting until the 1st of August so while this post will still be current then I will be entering these tags on the 1st of August

Also because all the backing card for these tags were from scraps of white card I am also entering into Pixies Snippets Playground week 331

To be honest I was a bit hesitant about entering tags in both challenges but couldn't believe my luck when the Snippets Playground opened last week and the lovely Di had made a tag. Yipee.
Please do pop over to the challenge blog to see the lovely creations by my team mates.

Thanks for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.
