Allsorts challenge week 426 - Poppies or colour inspiration

Good Morning - our fabulous team leader Brenda has set the theme for this weeks challenge.
She would like to see either Poppies on your card or colours from this lovely colour chart.
Of course you can also use a poppy image and any or all of these colours on your creation.

Our sponsor this week is Swedish House Crafts.

Here is my card.

I have used an old Hero Arts stamp set Delicate Blossoms 2010
Stamped the image three times.
The die is part of a set of three, I would guess at Spellbinders.
The sentiment is Craftwork card and the wording is in silver and does not show up very well at all on the photo.

Once again I did not have any red backing card that matched the red of the poppies so I just went round the edges of white card and the backing oval for the sentiment and again behind where the die would go with the pro marker I had used to colour the image.
I have decided that I will no longer buy coloured backing card and just use this method, mind you that may take quite a while for me to use up the backing card that I already have.

Have a great week everyone and thanks for popping by.

Kath x

Beautiful! Perfect placement of your stamping to create the focal image, lots of white space which adds to the impact.
I'm never sure what takes me longer...hunting for the right shade of backing card or colouring the edges!
Have a lovely weekend Kath.

A gorgeous card Kath.. love how you sloped the poppies down to the right - that's a perfect touch! I always love poppies - especially when we see them in fields full of green or golden corn, I always have to stop and get out of the car to get a better view!

Hi Kath,
what a very beautiful card and those stamped poppies are so lovely.
Love your wonderful design also.
I quite often use prmarkers for colouring my card if I don't have that colour card.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Gosh this is is so lovely. I do like to see poppies on a card. I have several in the garden too. One of them being a double red. I like your super idea of using the same pen colour to go round the outside edge and underneath the die cut. I have several shades of red card and nine times out of ten they won't match. Hugs Mrs A.

Wonderful card Kath! You reminded me that I too have this stamp - not used it for years but it's always lovely to use. And I do like the way you stamped a row of three as well. Neat idea about the Pro marker edging - again, something I always forget as an option!

Hi Kath

A lovely card .. .. great stamp and I love the decorative edge too.

I also colour white ribbon with ProMarkers if I haven't got the right colour in my collection (but not for my wedding work .. .. I would be there for ever if I did that LOL!!).

Hope you are having a good week.

Love Jules xx

Great card, Kath, you know I love this stamp. I love how you've used the stamp three times, moving it down each time. Lovely, dainty border too. Thanks for the reminder to use the Promarker on the edge of one of the mats to match the image. xx

Oh this is gorgeous Kath. I love Poppies! :-)
It’s a great idea to do the border with the matching pen. I sometimes create a square or oval to size, with a coloured border on my printer. That way I get the borders but save on cost of buying the backing card. It’s quicker too!! I’m getting lazy in my old age!!
We’ve had some sunshine today!! I’d forgotten what it looked like!! Lol. I hope it doesn’t rain on Tuesday as we are supposed to be having builder fix a leak on our roof. He’s had to cancel twice because of rain.
Hope you are well
Have a great weekend
Love Sue B xx
