Allsorts challenge - week 366 - The great outdoors

Welcome to our challenge 366
and the challenge of the Great Outdoors was chosen by the lovely Tracy Mouse

Our sponsor this week is Sizzix, with this fabulous prize.

Here is my card.

A huge change of colours for me, peach and pink with a tad of pale orange, but I do like it.
I thought that pastel colours suited this image better than brights, which I tried first. I did the birds a brownish colour because it blended in better than blue.

Stamp - Penny Black -Slapstick/Cling - Good neighbours.
The backing paper are all that's left from a 12x 12 sheet of some old SU set.
Sentiment Craftwork Cards

I do quite a lot of paper piecing and I always cut a piece of 6 x 6 paper that I want to use and then stamp in the middle so the paper can be used again as backing, that is if I like the papers, but you probably have known about this before, I have done this with the dotty paper, so as it is really a snippet I will be visiting the Playground when it opens in the morning, missed a couple of weeks so no idea what to expect.

You may remember a couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of our Blue Tits nest, well we had 8 eggs and all hatched but when we came back from holiday there were only 4 left, now I have taken many photo's but this is the best that I could show,
They had all flown yesterday morning.

I really like the soft peach colours Kath, I find 6x6 pads perfect for paper piecing as the patters are that much smaller than larger pads.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Pretty colours and a lovely stamp...good tip for economical paper piecing too!
Our birdies have flown too - no more comings and goings in and out of the frogs!
(Frog garden ornament they were nesting in!)

Your card is pretty in peach Kath. Great tip for the matching background matting when doing paper piecing.

Hope all the remaining 4 blue tits make it in the world.

The Playground is a bit quieter than usual cuz I'm playing truant!

Hugs, Sarn xxx

Loving this one in those fabbie peach colours Kath... and yes, I do similar to save on the paper! I end up with piles of offcuts - that never seem to get used!

Lovely to see the pic of the bluetits... our little birdhouse didn't attract any this year. But we do have very, very tame blackbird chicks... who land on the kitchen window ledge to give us a reminder when we haven't put food on the bird table! I'm terrified next door's cats are going to nab them, as they're so very tame!

This is gorgeous Kath… I love peach and pink together… you've coloured the image beautifully!
it's a good idea to save the papers especially if they're favourite ones.
Aww the Blue Tits sound very sweet… glad they have all flown the nest safely… thanks for sharing your lovely photo.
Hope you have a good week!
Big hugs, Sue B xx

Hi Kath,
what a wonderful card, and that stamped image is perfect.
Love the fab choice of colours also.
My granddaughters school had project with Blue Tits they had a camera in the nesting box, and there was 8 of them to start with but only 4 survived.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Kath

A bright and beautiful card. I love all your super neat paper piecing. It is a technique I love very much.

Lovely to see the remaining blue tits. I hope they survive.

We have blackbirds nesting in our garden and I can't believe how low down they have build their nest! Sadly no special camera to peep in at them though.

Hope you are having a good week.

Love Jules xx

Oh Kath - this is really lovely! Wonderful colours and I do like that stamp you used. That's a great idea about using the inside of a piece of paper for paper piecing and keeping the outside for further us - I confess to being a bit wasteful with a lot of my papers!

Sweet little birdies there too :)

Lovely to see you in the Playground. AND, as you like the die and the stamp I added your name to the Yes Please list. It really doesn't matter if you only play once a year even - if you like the prize then say you wanna be in the draw!! But, let me know if you were just being polite please!!

Lovely to see you in the Playground.
