Allsorts challenge - week 396 - Something New

Not something Old, Borrowed or  Blue but something New

That is the choice of the lovely Mervi who is hosting this weeks challenge at Allsorts.
Maybe it is some lovely goodies you have received for Christmas or something that you have not used before, or even a new Baby, Home, quite a few options available for you.

Our sponsor this week is Tattered Lace with this lovely die.

Here is my card.

The gorgeous Robin image is from a set of three from Hobby Art.
Round Robins - new for Christmas
The die is from Memory Box, bought just before Christmas at 50% off, and not used before, and now I can not find it anywhere??
The die has been cut in Platinum glitter card, which is really NBUS.
The sentiment is a peel off, coloured red, which certainly does not look like it.

Sorry it is a Christmas card but all my new stuff has been Christmas related.
It was really very difficult to photo, tried numerous times and either the Robin suffered or the glitter card suffered.
Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and wish you
A Happy and Healthy 2017.

My New Year's resolution is that I am NOT buying anything at all for crafting that is Christmas related, so don't anyone tempt me.

Pixie's Snippets Playground

It is weeks 260 and 261 over in the Playground
Unfortunately it has been a while since I stepped foot in there but here I am at last.

The past few days I have been busy making 5 of these pop-up boxes as I have five female friends who will be reaching their three score years and 10 Birthdays, I have yet to put the names and numbers on as I haven't decided which person is getting which box.
This is going into the Playground because all the flowers were die cut from snippets of white card and then coloured with pearlescent chalk and then set with hairspray.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all my Followers, Allsorts Team members, especially Brenda who is always on hand to help and encourage.

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas
and a Happy and Healthy 2017.

Thanks again

Allsorts challenge week 393 - Christmas Lights

Penultimate challenge before our two week Christmas challenge and the lovely Helene has chosen the theme of ....... Christmas Lights.

We have two lovely dies for this weeks prize.

Here is my card

Another challenge that I was in a dither with, as I had nothing with Christmas Lights, but like most of you I get mails from Pinterest but normally I delete them,  as I find if I take a look, I spend far too much time looking. But on this one occasion, I looked and low and behold there was this image as a free download, I could not believe my luck. Never moved so fast in my life, grabbed it straight away.

The image was from FunPup, which I think is no longer trading.
Papers Nitwits/LOTV
Stars and sentiment very old Craftwork Card.

I printed off about 30 of this image as I thought it would be great for my youngest Grandson's class mates cards for next year, don't moan, took them with me to Loch Lomond and he ended up colouring a few of the images and did a fantastic job of it too. I think I will use smaller stars in future and send the rest of the images up for him to colour.
Once again sorry about the photo.
Have a great week.

Penny Black and More challenge - December

Good Morning All.
The challenge over at Penny Black and More for December is
Black and White plus one other colour.
It is my turn to be the guest designer from the Allsorts Design Team
.

For my card I have used the Penny Black stamp - Flower amongst Flowers.
Stamped with Versafine Onyx Black
As you can tell my other colour is green.
The backing card and ribbon are SU
and the white EF is from Crafts Too A4 folder.
The four little flowers in the corner are from the Hobby House but I have coloured them with a black Promarker and placed a white pearl in the centre..
Sentiment is computer generated and punched using SU punches.
Not a very good photo.

There are some fabulous prizes on offer too. and while it is a manic month for all of us, if you can find the time to join in, then you may be a lucky winner.

Have a great week and keep warm.

Good Morning all and as it is Saturday it is another challenge over at Allosrts
The lovely Annie, who is enjoying her summer over in Oz, has chosen the theme of
CAS.

We have two sponsors this week Tattered Lace with this lovely prize for the lucky winner.

and

Here is my card.
I have used the Woodware stamp Special Bird.
I cut down a 7 x 7 card to fit this image and then cut a slightly smaller piece of white card onto which I stamped the image.
Paper pieced the tail, flower and wing with some old SU papers.
Coloured in the rest of the bird and grass and leaves.
A tad of glossy accents on the beak.
Really looking forward to seeing your CAS cards this week.
Please do go and check out the entries from my lovely Teamies.
Isn't it great to get presents from your other half - on this occasion not so good, full of cold and feeling rough.

Thanks

Final Rudolph Day of 2016

Hello everyone, well where has this year gone, I am sure you all agree that it doesn't seem two minutes since the first challenge in January. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mo and her lovely teams for all the time and lovely creations that they have given us throughout the year.
Thank you all.

This card was sort of cased from a card a Lady (cant remember her name) did at a demo at Samuel Taylors.
Using the Woodware stamp Berry Wreath, which I did some other cards with a few months ago.
I have used stickles but she used Novo pearls.
There is only one card from me in this style as to be honest I found making this quite traumatic.
I am totally uncertain if I want to send this card to anyone, I feel I want to keep to remind me not to make it again!
See you all in January, God willing.

Allsorts challenge week 390 - O Christmas Tree

Good Morning all, once again it is my turn to choose the theme for the Allsorts challenge and I have chosen the theme of......
O Christmas Tree, yes I want to see a Christmas tree somewhere on your creation.
Here is my card.
Stamp -Woodware
Papers old SU
Sentiment die - seems to be floating in my wording and numbers die draw without a folder, no idea how that has happened but looks like Mr Nobody has found his way into my Craftroom, again.
Stickles glitter glue.

Well, being Christmas, you don't just make one do you?
so I did another  4, but you can only see three, lol.
The other backing papers are also old SU

Our sponsor this week is Crafty Ribbons
with this lovely prize.

Lovely collection don't you think?
To be honest I have now lost count on how many Christmas cards I have made this year but I am now certain I have a good start on next years, no it is not sad, I just love making Christmas cards.
Have a great week everyone.

SU punch
Bell die - Memory Box
Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Allsorts challenge week 388 - Time

Well another week has passed and we are now onto week 388.
The lovely Wendy has chosen the challenge for you this week and it is ....

Time - feature a clock or numbers on your creation

Our sponsor this week is the Hobby House
I must add that the background paper on my Rudolph card on last weeks challenge was from the Hobby House, I totally forgot to mention it, sorry.

Panic here, nothing at all with a clock, did a card with numbers and hated it and then along came a crafting friend call Anne and rescued me with a couple of images from Craftwork Cards and I chose this one because the hands look to be pointing to 5 o'clock (yes they do) and as my Grandson's birthday is the 5th of the 12th, I thought it quite appropriate.

I made an error with the number 8, should not have done it in red but is doesn't look as bad IRL.

If you have the time, (get it) then we would love to see your entry in our challenge this week and please do check out the lovely makes from the rest of the Team.

Had a really lovely time last week as we went with our Daughter, Hubby and Grandson's to Loch Lomond for the half-term holiday, I really didn't want to go as I thought it would be too cold, but it was great. Stayed in a fabulous 4 bedroom house, did a bit of colouring and played loads of games in the evening. Went to Fort William to go up Ben Nevis but it poured down that day and was a tad wild  so we didn't bother. Had a free speedboat ride from the top of the Lock, where we were, to the bottom and back. Really nice to have had some real time with the Grandsons as they are getting older and have other commitments we do not have the time together that we used to have.

 Have a great week.

Allsorts challenge week 387 - Lets make a start on Christmas

Good Morning all and welcome to another challenge over at Allsorts.
Tracy Mouse has picked the theme of - Lets make a start on Christmas!

Our sponsor for this week is Lets Create.

Here is my card.

Creative Expressions Die - Reindeer
Papermania Kraft card.
Hobby House backing papers
White card and sentiment Craftwork cards, sentiment cut using a SU punch and then punched again in the kraft card and cut in half to just back the end of the sentiment.
Metal gem for nose and a blue gem for the eye.
I cut the centre image in white card then again in the kraft card then just cut the deer out of the kraft card and glued over the white image.

I have to say that this was a fabulous die to work with and would go as far to say that it is the best die I have ever bought for cutting and all the bits dropping out. Now having said that it will probably start to play up.

Thanks for popping by and do pop along to the challenge blog to see the other DT's fabulous creations.

Rudolph Day - October 2016

How time fly's when you are having fun?????

The penultimate RD challenge for 2016 over at Scrappy Mo's.

This month is unusual for me as I normally have a collection of cards to show using the same image but the other cards in the collection didn't photo at all well, and this one is not brilliant, but I hope you get the idea so here is my one and only card for this month which is actually testing out a new image which you will probably see more of next year, when I get a better idea of how I want to use it, God willing of course.

Blue mirri card for the backing and the paper is LOTV/Nitwits
Stamps are Woodware - Snowflake Flower and also the sentiment is Woodware from a different  stamp set.
Embossed with WOW blue glitz and the sentiment is just stamped with, I think Memento Paris Dust.

Have a great RD week, the challenge ends on the 31st of October.

Allsorts challenge week 386 - Sparkle and Shine

Good Morning, another Saturday and another challenge over at Allsorts.
Susan has chose the theme this week which is Sparkle and Shine.

Our sponsor this week is Stix2

For my card I have used SU card and ribbon Marina Mist
Die - Tuttti Designs - Triple Flower Edge, cut out in white and then again in the Marina Mist and just cut out the flowers and places them on top of the white ones.
Used Wink of Stella on the blue flowers and the Happy Birthday which is a
Presscut die, for the shine effect and...
A few small gems for the sparkle effect.
Hope your week 'sparkles and shines'

Thanks for popping by.

Allsorts challenge week 385 - Pink October

This weeks challenge has been chosen by the lovely Mervi and as it says on my header it is ...
Pink October, in reference to Breast Cancer.
We are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons

This is my card
I have yet to put a sentiment on, which will go on the bottom right hand side
The background papers - Kaiser Craft
SU ribbon
Image stamped on to LOTV/Nitwits papers with SU white embossing powder and stamped again and cut out and place over the original stamped image.
I really need to put a new camera on my Christmas list.
Pearls from my collection.
Pink October is in reference to Breast cancer.

Annoys me tremendously, what is there for Ovarian cancer, known as the Silent Killer, my Sister was very, very lucky to survive but the other 7 in her ward didn't.

I am also entering this into the In the Pink challenge which also is for Breast Cancer and wants to see ribbon or bows.

Pixie's Snippets Playground - week 250

This is a total case of a card I made earlier in the year. I made a pink one and a blue one, blogged the pink one but never blogged the blue one and I can not find it on my photo's so when my Daughter requested a new baby card for a boy I cased the pink one from earlier in the year.

The card is made of snippets left over from the earlier card and therefore I am pleased to be able to scoot off to the Playground and celebrate Di's 250th week of hosting the challenge.
Very well done Di and thank you.

The image is Woodware
Papers are all LOTV/Nitwits
Ribbon unknown, but it is lovely isn't it.

Autumn

I have a new follower Lisa Scherer but I have no link to your blog Lisa so if you could leave me a comment so I can return the favour, thank you.

Well I have finally found time to make a card for a challenge, and not only one challenge but four challenges, something very unusual for me.

6 x 6 card - Craftwork Cards
White card a tad smaller with rectangle cut out with Spellbinders die.
Image stamped onto a snippet of white card and matted with a snippet of light green paper and placed inside the die cut.
Image Penny Black stamp - Gossamer, was going to PP but used glossy accents instead
Su ribbon
Memory Box - Fresh Foliage die cut from a snippet of bronze glitter card
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.
Di's Snippets Playground week 249

I don't know about you but I always feel that the word Autumn isn't spelt right.
Thanks for calling and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Saturday 1 October 2016

Allsorts challenge - week 383 - Get Inspiration from a previous DT creation.

Good Morning and welcome, Saturday morning so another challenge over at Allsorts.
The lovely Helene has chosen the theme of ...

Get Inspiration from a previous Allsorts DT member's creation.

This means that you have to find a past creation by one of our DT members and show us your take on it.

Our sponsor this week is Sizzex with this lovely prize.

I have taken my inspiration from this lovely card by Tracy, I had the images loved the very different colour for a Christmas card.

You can find the original post here.
10th of October 2015

This is my take on her card
Image - Hobby Art
Stamped with Memento - Peanut Brittle
Coloured with ProMarker - Apricot
Memory box - Crystalline border, but only used the snowflakes and stars, not as a border and I coloured white card with the Apricot ProMarker to match and then die cut the card.
Some Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter, well it was originally but I have added other crystal glitters over the years.

I have to say that Tracy stamped the snowflakes where I have die cut the snowflakes as I didn't trust myself, after doing all the other stamping, to get the snowflakes right.
Another Christmas card to the collection.
The snowflakes were cut from a snippet of white card so will be heading into the Playground with this card when it opens again tomorrow, treading carefully as it has been a while since I visited.

Rudolph Day - September 2016

Rudolph Day, again, they seem to come round so quickly.
Oh, have to put this post on hold as I haven't taken my photo's yet!!!!
Well that was a nightmare and a really rubbish photo, I blame it on all the glitter.
My favourite is the centre green one as I did not have any backing paper that really went with the glitter on the  image so I just used double sided tape and peeled off the top layer and glittered it with the same glitter as the image.

Six cards and I am just about done for this year, only special Family cards left. But still have some cards to show for the last two RD challenges.
Please do pop over to Scrappy Mo's - Scraps of Life blog to see the lovely cards made by her and the DT.
Oops, Woodware stamp - Berry Wreath, it is a really lovely stamp but not for the faint hearted, I really, really struggled with this one, tried it with pearls, glitter glue and plain glitter as shown here, but these were the best but certainly not perfect. The best thing is the prices of Woodware stamps are reasonable.
Various glitters and backing papers,

Thank you so much for dropping in and I would love to hear your thoughts on this post, good or bad.

Allsorts challenge week 382 - Use Newspaper print

Another Saturday morning and here we are again with a new challenge at Allsorts.
Our sponsor this week is Scrappers Delights.

The lovely Annie has chose the theme for us this week and it really threw me, I had nothing at all related to newspaper print, apart from a newspaper which I really didn't want to use but a lovely Lady in our local craft club came to my rescue.

Now this card is for our Paper Boy, who will be 69 in December, yes 69!
So I thought the use of the newspaper print was very apt for him, he is a friend and neighbour, not just the paper boy.
Woodware stamp, paper pieced with Craftwork Cards newspapers papers
Backing papers - LOTV/ Nitwits - Country Gent
Computer generated headline.
Distress ink around the Happy Birthday which only seems to show up on one side, camera again.
Thanks for calling by and look forward to your comments, good or bad.

Saturday 17 September 2016

Allsorts challenge - week 381-Black, white and one other colour.

The very talented Kevin has chosen this weeks challenge of ...
Black, white and one other colour, love this challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Crafty Ribbons

Here is my card.

The only thing that bothers me about this card is that the image does not give a genuine black image but it was stamped with Versafine Onyx black but looks brown to me, not another visit to SpecSavers, I am there every other day! - Kidding.
It must be my camera, sorry.
Image is Honey Doo Crafts - Delicate Dandelions
Paper - unknown, had for ages.
Computer generated sentiment.
SU punches
Craftwork Cards - Candi

I love any make of stamp that uses Dandelions but I hate it when their clocks are flying in real life and how come they take over more than other flower seeds?

Hope you all have a lovely week.

Allsorts challenge week 380 - Anniversaries

Good morning all, once again it is my turn to choose the theme for the Allsorts challenge.
How these weeks fly by.

My chosen theme is.....
Anniversaries/Special Occasions or Congratulations.
No Happy Birthday's, I know that it is a special occasion and an Anniversary but not for this weeks challenge.

The sponsor this week is Crafty Ribbons

The reason I have chosen this theme is because it is very close to the Anniversary of being on the DT at Allsorts for a year. I really can't believe it and thought I would have had my P45 before now!

Embossing folder - Marrianne comes with small hearts die as well, that I have used for the 4 corner hearts.
Heart Die - Impression Obsession.
Computer generated sentiment.
Hope you all have a great week.

Follow up on last weeks post, Ethan is loving his new school, phew?

Allsorts challenge week 379 - New beginnings

Hello there, and welcome to a new challenge here at Allsorts.
Our sponsor this week is Digi Stamp Boutique

Tracy has chosen the theme of New Beginnings, so quite a wide scope there for all of you.

I am quite delighted that this theme has been chosen at this time as my eldest Grandson, Ethan, starts on Monday afternoon, just for the new pupils, then a full day Tuesday at his new School - Big School as it was always called at one time.

So here is my card for Ethan.

The image may be a tad younger than he is and the sentiment( computer generated) may be a little difficult to read ..
but it says...
You are beginning a new chapter in your life,
Enjoy your new school, Ethan.
Hope I don't forget to give it him on Sunday.

The stack of books and the boy image are from Bugaboo.
The papers I have had for quite some time and have lost the front page.

Looking forward to seeing the entries for this lovely challenge.

LIM challenge 291

What a great challenge for those of us who have been there, done that, and have moved on, but secretly we have all still got some stickers and peek off's in our stash.

I am using one of my all time favourite Peel Offs.
Woodware - FR collection.

Thank you for any comments.

Allsorts challenge week 378 - use more than two dies.

Well I for one love using dies, although sometimes, I don't really think they like me using them as they can be a bit of a trial at times.

The lovely Wendy has chose this weeks theme.
Use more than two dies.

Our sponsor this week is Sizzex with this fabulous prize.

Here is my card.
I keep going for these bright Summery colours in the hope that the weather may take notice, well the last few days have been lovely but being a Bank Holiday it has certainly changed today.

This is the first time I have been able to use this die from Lil Inkers Rectangle die set, I don't know about you but I have so many shaped dies in various formats but my images never seem to fit them!

The digital papers were a free set, from  Tinker n Co as I was a runner up on a Jules- always with a heart blog, as Jo from Tinker n Co wanted hear some memories from your childhood, the winner got 3 sets and runners up got to chose 1 set, I was lucky to be a runner up.

The daisy and the floral die are from English Country Garden, Sarah Davies
a tad of glitter glue on the centre
SU card stock and ribbon
Craftwork Cards sentiment.
Please pop over to the challenge blog to see the lovely creation by my Team mates.

Thank you for calling by and those of you can, enjoy the Holiday.

Rudolph Day - August 2016

Another month has flown by and we are back to another Rudolph Day challenge over at Scrappymo's.

Thank goodness I am on target, although I keep forgetting to up date my cards made gadget thingy on my blog.

Here are another six to add to the list.

Stamp - Woodware - Snowman Bauble.
Papers - Various
Red backing card - SU
Bit of silver glitter on the hanger.
The sentiment comes with the stamp.
Only three more RD challenges left for this year so not many chances left for you to get on top of your Christmas cards.

Allsorts challenge week 377 - Fabulous Florals

Good Morning, another Saturday and it is turn of the the lovely Brenda to host the challenge and she has chosen the theme of Fabulous Florals.

Our sponsor this week is
Marianne with this lovely prize.

Here is my card

I think I did a bit of an overload with this die when I first bought it as I loved it so much but it has been a while since I have used it and I do still think it is a Fabulous Floral die.

Memory Box - Delightful Peony Outline.
Dotty paper - old SU
Background - get this - Distressed Inks and also on the backing of the flower and leaves.
Memory Box - Happy Birthday Extravaganza die. In hindsight I should have cut it out in pink or green.
For the background of the flower I glued the flower head onto the distressed card and then cut round the flower head.

I have been AWOL for the past few weeks from the Playground but snippets of white card have been used to cut out the image and the sentiment so I will be jumping in there when the gates open tomorrow.

Thanks so much for popping by and I really appreciate your comments, good or bad.
Hope your weekend is good and your week even better.
