Rudolph Day - June 2015

I have been playing with 2 new dies, well just once actually.

The Noel die by Memory Box, I won.
The Sparkle Burst Stars by Poppy Stamps I bought.
Shimmer paper - Craft Creations but bought from Sam. Taylors. I am loving this shimmer paper, far cheaper than glitter paper and with such a shine. No I am not on commission.

Originally I did the Noel in the same colour as the Stars shimmer paper but was not sure so then I decided to use the two other colours that I had and I think it works better.

Now I know that some people tend to zoom in to look at a card so I have to explain a couple of things.

I have used the starburst die twice and it does tend to stretch the card and I may have to think about ironing it (yuk) to flatten it out more, even though I have spotted glue on the back.
The original Noel letters were not put on dead straight, must have had one glass of wine too many and the other coloured lettering were placed on top.

Oh yes and I have also added some of the circle off cuts to fill up the card.

Not a great photo the backing shimmer paper looks uneven. BUT it is NOT

It is different and to be honest I do like it, when I get round to doing it properly.

Thanks for looking and I value your opinion.

Snippets challenge 181 the noel backing are snippets.

  4. Wow Kath, this is fabulous! I love both the dies you used - and the result is just perfect. Know what you mean about some dies stretching the card but to be honest, I can't really see that in your case - and I had me nose right up against the screen too :)

  5. Hi Kath, WONDERFUL card, love it.... And well done on shimmer paper wonder if can source it here.. Lovely effect.
Re the bow in paper... Do not iron it... Often can make it worse. I do this all the time, get a dictionary or two equally thick books and place card on carpet overnight with books on top.
Next day should be perfectly flat. I always use weight in preference to heat, as heat invariably makes it worse.
